The CPD program focuses on building competencies in three major areas:
Generic
These courses attempt to create and build an understanding of some of the key components of classroom transactions that are considered essential for building engaged and effective classrooms.
Subject Specific
Having acquired generic understanding, skills and competencies, teachers acquire and build subject specific understanding and pedagogical skills.
School Leadership
Teachers will be invited, based on successful completion of generic and subject specific programs and their school principal recommendations. These programs are intended to prepare competent teachers for higher academic responsibilities.
The CPD Program consists of the following 8 programs. The first five being generic in nature and sixth being subject specific. The last two are focused on building school leadership.It has been identified that apart from personal skills, motivation and commitment, teachers need further exposure the following areas in order to develop skills, competencies and practices so as to support student achievement:

GENERIC
1. Curriculum and Content: Analysis, Planning, Strategies & Design
Program Description:
Curriculum Design program aligns itself with a school teacher’s perspective in approaching common curriculum concerns and discusses different curriculum analysis & design possibilities, relevant in the current education paradigm.
The Program uses an experiential learning approach through group activities, role play, brainstorming sessions and reflective exercises for sensitizing teachers towards importance of Curriculum.
Program will also help Participants understand the components of curriculum analysis and relate macro curriculum issues with classroom.
Participants would be able to devise strategies to design curriculum according to their own classroom’s requirements.
2. Instruction and Pedagogy: Strategies and Practices
Program Description:
The program introduces to you a repertoire of instructional strategies and pedagogical practices to create active and engaged learning experiences. The program delves into fundamental paradigms and perspectives of learning and its implications for classroom instruction.
The program will present various instructional strategies to help you to reflect, design and then incorporate them into classroom practices in a diverse classroom environment.
In each session participants will engage in reflective exercises, group activities, role plays, discussions, brainstorming sessions and complete an application assignment. The program is highly experiential and focuses on learning how to create active, meaningful and engaging learning experiences that promote learning in a diverse classroom setting.
3. Classroom Management: Challenges, Strategies and Practices
Program Description:
This program aims at sensitizing the participants of manifest behavioural disruptions; their causes and implications.
A two way effective communication is a key in improving classroom management and maximization of resources of time and space available to a facilitator in the classroom.
Participants will understand as to how the learning diversities and teacher responses can help build engaged classrooms and manage learning and student achievement.
Through a series of interactive activities the participants will be able to engender strategies and activities to retain active and meaningful engagement of the students in class.
The sessions would focus on collaborative learning, role plays, case studies and group discussions.
4. Measurement, Assessment & Evaluation: Understanding, Planning & Connecting with Instruction
Program Description:
This program on assessment & evaluation is aimed at making teachers realize the crucial role assessment & evaluation plays in aligning the content, pedagogy and educational processes with its results, thereby constantly improving the management of student’s learning.
The program sensitizes Participants towards the relevance of current assessment perception & practices in the era of information explosion.
The program also discusses common systemic errors in paper setting, as compared to question setting.
It equips teachers with techniques to assess scholastic and non scholastic aspects of child’s personality in order to provide right inputs to enhance their abilities.

Leveraging classroom technology for improved learning processes

These are subject based programs where teachers build mastery of the subject they teach and how to teach that subject.

Preparing them for positions of academic supervisors, such as coordinator, headmasters/headmistress, Deans etc..

Preparing them for higher professional responsibilities such as principals and directors.
